Hillsboro incumbents file for city positions
Candidates have filed for election to numerous city and school board positions.
The filing deadline was noon Tuesday with most positions having at least one candidate.
A primary election will not be necessary because of the number of candidates for each position.
Following are candidates who have filed for city positions.
Hillsboro: Mayor Delores Dalke. Incumbent is Dalke. East ward councilman Matthew O. Hiebert, west ward councilman Leonard Coryea. Incumbents are Hiebert and Coryea, respectively.
Burns: Mayor Mary Glenn. Incumbent is Glenn. Councilmen (5 positions) Mark Steward, Fritzie Hatfield, Mark Brunhoeber, Elmer Welch, and Judith A. Steward. Incumbents are Steward, Hatfield, Brunhoeber, Steven Cheuvroni, and Cecilia Kennedy. No one has filed for treasurer, which is currently held by Thomas D. Grimwood.
Durham: Mayor Glennon Crowther. Incumbent is Crowther. Councilmen (5 positions) Gary D. Unruh, Verlin Sommerfeld, Michael Sorensen, Anna Mae Goertz, and Steven B. Miller. Incumbents are Unruh, Sommerfeld, Sorensen, Reinhold Winter, and Ben Goertz.
Florence: Mayor Susan E. Klassen. Incumbent is John F. Lehman. First ward councilman Randy B. Mills, second ward councilman Bryan L. Harper. Incumbents are Mills and Harper, respectively.
Goessel: Mayor Peggy Jay. Incumbent is Jay. Councilmen (2 positions) Joel J. Ratzlaff, Larry C. Lindeman, and Larry D. Schmidt. Incumbents are Schmidt and Lindeman.
Lehigh: No candidates filed for office. Incumbent mayor is Ron Duerksen. Councilmen (5 positions) incumbents are Todd Jost, Eldon Kaiser, Michael Geiman, Monty Root, and John Masson.
Lincolnville: Mayor David L. Schneider, Sr., and Victor D. Burns. Incumbent is Burns. Councilmen (2 positions) Sylvia M. Bailey, Greg A. Hubbard, and V. Gail Burns. Incumbents are Karen Hurt and John Chizek.
Lost Springs: No candidates filed for office. Incumbent mayor is Steve Seifert. Councilmen (5 positions) incumbents are Frank Wirtz, Glenn Heitfield, Joe Alvarez, Blaine Gehrke, and Angie Seifert.
Marion: Finance commissioner: Larry McLain. Incumbent is McLain.
Peabody: Mayor Tom Schmidt. Incumbent is Randy Dallke. Councilmen (2 positions) Jon Gard, Tim Peterson, and Edmond N. Slocombe. Incumbents are Jon Gard and Tom Schmidt.
Ramona: Mayor Pat Wick and Edith "Connie" Smith. Incumbent is Wick. Councilmen (5 positions) Jayme Linn Brunner, Lola "Angel" Harold, Kathy Werth, Jeanette "Jeannie" L. Weber, Reign Anduss, Robert W. Brady, Arthur E. Stroda, Judith A. Gratz, and Nathan A. Bailey. Incumbents are Brunner, Harold, Werth, Weber, and Anduss.
Tampa: Councilmen (3 positions) Paul H. Backhus and Wilbert E. Backhus. Incumbents are P. Backhus, W. Backhus, and Reuben Kerbs.
The five school districts in Marion County have three positions each up for election.
Centre USD 397: Position 4 Jennifer M. Kassebaum, position 5 Brent G. Methvin and Kathy Beneke-Bloom, position 6 Julie Klenda. Kassebaum, John Garrard, and Klenda are incumbents.
Goessel USD 411: Position 4 Lynette Duerksen, position 5 Dewayne Voth and Anton Epp, position 6 Lynel Unrau. Duerksen, Voth, and Unrau are incumbents.
Hillsboro USD 410: Position 4 Brent Barkman, position 5 Doug Weinbrenner and Gary L. Andrews, position 6 Eddie Weber. Barkman, Weinbrenner, and Weber are incumbents.
Marion USD 408: Position 4 Keith Collett, position 5 Jan Helmer, position 6 Lyle K. Leppke. Collett, Roger Hannaford III, and Gene Bowers are incumbents.
Peabody-Burns USD 398: Position 4 Duke Eldridge, position 5 Doe Ann Hague, position 6 Rhonda D. Louks. Eldridge, Hague, and James Hoffman are incumbents.
The general election will be April 6.
