Hillsboro LTC: Residents take road trips

As summer comes to a close I felt the need to share some of my wisdom with all of you again and since my wisdom is on the short side, share some of what has been happening at Hillsboro LTC.
Outings have been the highlight the past few months including several trips to McDonald's and rides on roads some of us never knew were out there.
We also were lucky enough to have a spot in the parade. Kelly, Madi, and Jacob helped Lisa throw candy to the crowd and Martha K., Hannah, Keith, Sue, Maurine, Pete, and Stella waved to everyone. We had so much fun and hope we can do it again next year.
The domino group has been in high gear. Not only do they play on Tuesday but almost every morning and afternoon. If you ever want play a challenging game of dominoes, head our way.
We also have been busy sprucing up the place and Vernis pitched right in one day. With a paint roller in one hand and a couple of assistants away he went. We now have a pretty blue shower room. He was so proud of the results he didn't want to wash the paint off his hands. And we couldn't blame him!
When we aren't playing games or going on outings, food has become a very important part of our day. We celebrated lemon meringue pie day and summer slush day, twice. You can't beat those Sonic slushes!
Nicci has kept us entertained. One day we made cute fly swatters. You will have to come by and try one out.
Just today we celebrate August birthdays. Dorothy D., Bev, and Martha Y. all face that year-older thing later this month. Just so she doesn't think I forgot, my mom, Elaine also turns a year older on the 31st. If you want to know how old, you will have to ask her yourself.
Well that's it for this time, don't forget to stop by and see us, were open 24/7.
