Residents participated in a variety of activities to celebrate Valentine's Day.
They made valentines for grade schoolers, played "Valentine Deal or No Deal," and made cookies for a valentine party. They also played a valentine tossing game and enjoyed strawberry punch along with the cookies they had made.
Spud Pschigoda and Anna Smith were crowned the valentine king and queen.
Sandy Patterson, RN, came to present a Red Hat Society program. Residents reminisced about how they met their spouses.
Elaine Jantzen and Joni Calam led the sing-along in February.
Thirteen members enjoyed an outing Feb. 21 to Newton.
The Bible study during the month of February focused on the life of David. The focus shifted to the life of Christ during the Lenten season.
Gayla Ratzlaff gave a PowerPoint presentation about her mission trip with Parkview MB Church in January. Residents heard about the Katrina cleanup in New Orleans and Mississippi.
Residents celebrating birthdays during February included Florentina Meyer on Feb. 16. Her son, family, friends, and pastor joined her for a birthday coffee that day. Ruth Goentzel and two nieces, Sharon Bartel and Judy Jantz, along with residents, celebrated her birthday Feb. 1. Anna Smith had Frieda Birkle, Julie Cook, and residents join her for her birthday coffee Feb. 20.
John Ratzlaff led the Sunday school time each Sunday morning.
The following churches conducted worship services, Ebenfeld MB Church, Feb. 4; St. John Lutheran Church, Feb. 11; Trinity Mennonite church, Feb. 18; and First Baptist Church of Durham, Feb. 25.
