Librarian Kathy Fish came to read to residents Monday. She also brought some student readers. In the afternoon, residents played bingo.
We enjoyed watermelon and crullers Tuesday afternoon. Father John came in the evening to read.
During singing and devotional time Wednesday, we looked at Psalm 91.
Due to inclement weather, the women did not make it to the park for tea. They went on a van ride and picked up a treat. The men were supposed to go to the lake for a picnic and fishing but stayed in. They had their picnic in the chapel with grilled hamburgers, beans, potato salad, and cake. Sandy Patterson, RN, provided the beans, potato salad, and cake.
We celebrated Flag Day Thursday afternoon.
On Friday we enjoyed a van ride. Leland Kaiser and Richard Noone had a birthday coffee in the afternoon. Leland's birthday was Friday and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren sang and played piano for him. Some of Richard's children from California and his wife were here for the party. Chocolate cake, cherry crisp, and strawberry ice cream was served.
Residents played bingo Saturday afternoon.
John Ratzlaff led Sunday school time and the afternoon worship service.

Residents played a round of golf Monday morning. They did their best shots on our putting green. They played bingo in the afternoon.
We are reading through the book, "Sod and Stubble," about life in the 1870s in Osborne County.
The Arlen and Brenda Penner family played dominoes with residents Tuesday morning. They gave a musical program afterward.
Residents did some bowling in the afternoon. Father John came to read for residents in the evening.
The women had their nails done Wednesday afternoon.
Several residents came out for creative writing in the afternoon. A bulletin board is being placed in the activity room for visitors, staff, and other residents to read the writings.
Residents made pasta salad for the salad buffet at noon Thursday.
Jane Vajnar came and led a time of reminiscing Friday morning. A hat celebration was held in the afternoon. Residents and staff were encouraged to wear hats Friday.
Natasha Hollingshead came in for coffee, trivia, and bingo Saturday.

The residents enjoyed Memorial Day activities. Clara Bartel, Ruth Goentzel, Anna Enns, Alma Rempel, and Frank Ediger attended Memorial Day services.
Several volunteers came to play dominoes Tuesday morning. The Herbel family sang afterward.
A birthday coffee was held for Kathryn Klassen in the afternoon. She picked cinnamon rolls for residents and staff to enjoy. Her two nieces, Caryl Wiebe and Betty Seibel sang Kathryn's favorite hymn.
The Gospel Messengers gave a program in the evening.
Residents looked at Psalm 27 during devotional and singing time Wednesday morning.
The south hall staff held a spring fling Wednesday afternoon.
Those enjoying a day at Sedgwick County Zoo Thursday were Frank Ediger, Jon Bruner, Ruth Goentzel, Kathryn Klaassen, Dorothy Morford, Ruth Freeman, Alma Rempel, and Marj Rediker.
Coffee and social time was held Friday morning. Bingo was enjoyed Saturday afternoon.
John Ratzlaff led Sunday school time. The Durham Baptist Church was in charge of the afternoon worship service.
