Aug. 7 — Delivered emergency message in the 300 block of West Third.

Aug. 8 — Assisted the ambulance in the 700 block of West A Street.
Disturbance complaint in the 100 block of South Lincoln.
Gas skip in the 300 block of North Ash.
Dog complaint in the 300 block of North Jefferson.
Domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Birch.
Disturbance complaint in the 400 block of South Washington.
Report of an attempted check fraud.
K-9 unit assisted with a residential search.
Aug. 9 — Welfare check in 300 block of South Birch.
Aug. 10 — Juvenile complaint in the park.
Assisted with a subject at the fairgrounds who was suffering from heat exhaustion.
Assisted with Marion County Fair Parade.
Motorist assist at D Street and Ash Street.
Searched for a possible drunk driver who had been reported in the area.
Aug. 11 — Subject reported being assaulted by a family member but did not want to pursue charges.
Assisted sheriff with searching for a subject who had fled the jail.
Noise complaint in the 400 block of South Cedar.
Disturbance complaint in the 800 block of East D Street.
Report of smoke coming from a vehicle at the fairgrounds.
Report of a two-vehicle accident at D Street at the fairgrounds entrance. During the investigation, one of the drivers was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Eighteen-year-old Brady W. May of Marion was arrested for DUI.
Delivered an emergency message in the 400 block of D Street.
Aug. 14 — At 3:55 a.m., Officer Brad Richards checked a suspicious vehicle parked in a lot on D Street. The driver was identified as a runaway from Goessel who was wanted on criminal charges. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Hillsboro but had not been discovered missing. The juvenile was transported to juvenile intake.
On Aug. 11, Rebecca Morris of Hillsboro, driving 1991 Chevrolet Caprice registered to Parkside Homes, backed into a vehicle parked in the Dollar General parking lot. The parked vehicle is owned by John Kline of Marion. No injuries were reported and Chad Funk was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 11, an unknown vehicle struck a 1984 Nissan pickup, owned by Vaughn Jost of Hillsboro, while it was legally parked on Wilson Street. The Jost vehicle was struck on the left door. David Funk was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 13, Brady W. May of Marion, driving a 1998 Chevrolet pickup, was eastbound on D Street when his vehicle struck a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup which was westbound on D Street and turning south on Floral. Jessica Craney of Hillsboro is the owner of the Ford Ranger. Passengers in the Craney vehicle include Paige Craney and Cody Craney. No injuries were reported.
