Hillsboro Police Department: Thieves take beverages, meds
Hillsboro Police Officers continue to investigate a report of someone breaking into a residence Saturday and stealing items.
Aug. 6: A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of North Washington Street. A motorist received assistance at Marion County Fairgrounds. A subject reported a lost wallet. Juveniles were issued citations for curfew violations.
Aug. 7: A medical helicopter received assistance with landing at Hillsboro Community Medical Center. Marion County Sheriff's Department received assistance with cattle on a roadway. The K-9 unit performed a vehicle search.
Aug. 8: A welfare check was provided in the 200 block of South Main Street. Assistance was provided with a reckless driver on U.S.-56. A camper hook-up was provided at Memorial Park. Riley County authorities received assistance with a search for a runaway juvenile.
Aug. 9: Assistance was provided at Marion County Fairgrounds with crowd control, parking issues, and parade.
Thursday: A dog complaint was filed in the 200 block of East D Street. A subject was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A report was made of fireworks being discharged in the 200 block of West Grand Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 100 block of North Madison Street. A 911 disconnect was checked in the 200 block of Floral Drive.
Friday: An animal welfare concern was made in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. A parking complaint was reported at Memorial Park. A juvenile was reported missing in the 200 block of East A Street. A child welfare concern was made in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. SRS received assistance with an investigation.
Saturday: An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 700 block of North Lincoln Street. The sheriff's department received assistance with a suicidal subject and an activated commercial alarm. Jana Borland, 416 S. Main Street, reported someone had gained entry by using force into her residence and removed beer, pop, and medication; information was provided to officers of the person who may have committed the crimes and the case remains under investigation.
