Hillsboro police investigate damage to vehicles

Two females reported Oct. 23 to Hillsboro Police Department that someone had damaged their vehicles while in a parking lot on the Tabor College campus.

Oct. 22: Assistance was provided to Marion County Sheriff's Department with a traffic complaint. The report of a possible drunk driver was investigated. A water leak was located in the 200 block of South Ash Street. A possible domestic disturbance was reported.

Oct. 23: A dog complaint in the 300 block of South Birch Street was filed. Leigh Costello and Jessica Brown reported someone had scratched their vehicles while parked in a Tabor College parking lot. Damage estimates have not been determined. The sheriff's department received assistance with a phone scam complaint. Pre-school students heard a Halloween safety talk from an officer. Subjects were fingerprinted for employment purposes. Marion Police Department received assistance with an investigation. A dog complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Madison. Assistance was provided at a vehicle fire in the 100 block of North Madison Street and a possible gas leak in the 900 block of East Grand. Suspicious people were reported in the 800 block of East D Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main.

Oct. 24: A civil process was served. A complaint was made of a disorderly person in the 500 block of East Grand. An adult male allegedly made verbal sexual advances to a female juvenile. The case is under investigation. A noise complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Adams.

Oct. 25: An officer provided assistance to Ampride in locating a customer who had forgotten to pay for fuel. A search warrant was executed to obtain evidence in a sexual abuse case. Charges are pending following the recovery of a bicycle stolen from Hillsboro High School and damaged.

Thursday: Authorities received assistance with a reckless driver on U.S.-56. Assistance also was provided when an owner was locked out of a vehicle and to Marion Police Department with an assault complaint. Suspicious activities were checked in the 100 block of North Main and 100 block of East Grand. An abandoned vehicle was checked in the 100 block of South Main Street. A camper hook-up was provided in Memorial Park.

Friday: A subject was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A suspicious vehicle was checked in the 100 block of South Washington Street. A dog complaint was filed. A parking complaint was made in the 400 block of East D Street. An individual reported a juvenile who was out of control in the 300 block of South Main. A 911 disconnect was checked in the 800 block of West Grand.

Saturday: A water leak was located in the 200 block of North Main Street. A harassment complaint in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street was filed. A domestic disturbance was investigated in the 300 block of South Birch Street. A motorist received assistance in the 300 block of North Ash. Kansas High Patrol received assistance with a possible drunk driver on U.S.-56.
