Hillsboro police: Library damage investigated
The Hillsboro Library staff reported that a patron had damaged approximately 29 books that he had checked out over the last year. The subject had removed various pages form each book prior to returning them. Damage is estimated at $785. The case was investigated in conjunction with the Marion Police Department, who also reported several damaged books from the Marion Library. Charges are pending against a Hillsboro man. This case was investigated by Officer David Funk.
Clarice Warkentine of 310 S. Date in Hillsboro reported that someone had shot her dogs with a BB gun over a period of time. The veterinarian had located several pellets under the skin during an examination. This case was investigated by Chief Daniel Kinning.
Nicole Waldbauer reported a bicycle stolen from a residence located at 305 S. Birch in Hillsboro. The bicycle was recovered from in back of a separate Hillsboro residence., It was later discovered that other items had been taken from the garage at 305. S. Birch. Charges are pending against a Hillsboro man. This case was investigated by Kinning.
Pauline Harms of 607 E. C Street in Hillsboro reported that her 1994 Dodge passenger car was parked in front of 705 S. Washington, and she discovered that the vehicle had been damaged.
