Hillsboro Post #366 streaks to 5-1 start years ago

The Hillsboro Post #366 Legion team split at Peabody this past Wednesday, losing the first game, 14-6, and coming back and winning the second game, 11-9.

Hillsboro was supposed to go to Hesston last Thursday, but Hesston forfeited. So, after two weeks of play, Hillsboro's record is 5-1.

Against Peabody, Hillsboro fell behind, 5-0, after three innings in the first game, but tied the score, 5-5, in the top of the fifth inning.

But Peabody scored five runs in the bottom of the inning and went on to win.

Pitcher Clayton Garnica took the loss. Justin Moore led the hitting with three hits.

Justin Moore's grand slam in the second inning led Hillsboro in the second game.

Adam Scheele (2-0) was the winning pitcher with Travis Reisen getting the save. Justin Moore continued his hot streak, going four for four at the plate.

Hillsboro was scheduled to play at home against Lyons Tuesday, and hosts Hesston on Thursday.
