Hillsboro tennis hosts invitational
The Trojan tennis team took fourth place April 5 at the Smoky Valley High School Tennis Day Invitational. They played eight teams, which was a big tournament, according to Cory Unruh, head boys' tennis coach.
Kyle Kroeker and Macy Fadenrecht took third in the number one doubles, Peter Fast and Ric Johnson placed third in number two doubles, and Robert Jost went two and two for the day and took 10th.
Hillsboro hosted the Trojan Tennis Invitational Thursday taking third with its Gold team and eighth with its Red team.
"It was actually pretty close scoring all the way through," said Unruh. "It's the best we've played all year as a team."
Kroeker and Fadenrecht took third in number one doubles, Fast and Johnson took third in number two doubles, and Caleb Barkman took third in number two singles.
The next high school tennis match will be at 3 p.m. today at Towanda, and at 9 a.m. Saturday in Lindsborg.
