HMS football teams lose to Collegiate

Both the eighth and seven grade Hillsboro Middle School football teams lost last Thursday to Wichita Collegiate in Wichita.

The eighth-grade team lost 38-0.

"We gave it everything we had," head coach Darrel Knoll said, "but Collegiate just had too much size and a premier running back."

"I was glad we didn't just lay down and get beat by much more," he said.

Hillsboro had a total of 117 yards in 33 carries. In passing, the Trojans were two for five for five yards.

Collegiate rushed for 212 yards in eight carries and was six of nine in passing for 53 yards and two touchdowns.

In the seventh-grade game, Hillsboro lost 22-8.

The Trojans defeated Marion 44-0 Oct. 6.

The Trojans rushed for 124 yards in 21 carries and were 0 for 11 in passing with one interception.
