HMS wrestlers compete at Lyons

The Hillsboro Middle School wrestling team competed Saturday at the Lyons Middle School wrestling tournament in Lyons.

"This tournament was a real success for our team overall," coach Len Coryea said.

According to Coryea, some of the teams competing, such as Lincoln, Pratt, and Hoisington, who have rich traditions in wrestling, made for a tougher tournament than in the past years.

Thirteen HMS wrestlers won medals at the tournament.

"I think this is the best we have achieved at the Lyons tournament," Coryea said.

The team competed in Marion on Tuesday and will compete at 3 p.m. today at the Bluestem Middle School wrestling tournament at Leon.
