Second district commissioner Republican Dan Holub is being challenged by Democrat James Herzet.

The third district commission seat, held by Republican Randy Dallke, is being challenged by two candidates — fellow Republican Larry Larsen and Democrat Aaron Allen.

Republican sheriff Lee Becker is being challenged by Republican Rob Craft.

There are no challenges for the other incumbent county offices. They are: Susan Robson, attorney; Carol Maggard, clerk; Jeannine Bateman, treasurer; and Jo Ottensmeier, register of deeds.

The deadline for filing was noon Tuesday.

All candidates will be on the Aug. 5 primary ballot with one candidate from each party moving on to the general election in November.
