Anderson earns KCAC honors
Tabor College sophomore Donya Anderson, Ardmore, Okla., was named Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) women's basketball player-of-the-week for week No. 8 of the winter season.
During the week, Anderson, a 5-10 forward, had 32 points, 27 rebounds, five assists, and six steals in match-ups against Sterling College and Ottawa University.
The Tabor College women are 17-1 in KCAC and 24-4 overall.
Hemmert named KCAC player of week
Tabor College's Erica Hemmert, WaKeeny, was named Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) women's basketball player-of-the-week for week #7 of the winter season.
During the week, Hemmert, a 5-7 guard, had 42 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and six steals in match ups against Kansas Wesleyan University and Bethany College.
She was 17/25 from two-point range, 3/6 of three-pointers, and 5/8 in free throws.
Local grads named
to KU honor rolls
Seven Marion County students recently were named to the University of Kansas fall 2004 honor roll.
Linnah Drake, senior, nursing, Burns; Nathan Hall, pharmacy, Goessel; Adam Driggers, junior, art, and Eric Driggers, pharmacy, Hillsboro; Karson Craig, freshman, pre-physical therapy, and Melissa Moffitt, senior, nursing, Marion; and Marie Unruh, freshman, art-basic studies, Peabody.
Honor roll criteria varies among the university's academic units. Some schools honor the top 10 percent of students enrolled, and some establish a minimum grade point average. Students must complete a minimum number of credit hours to be considered for the honor roll.
Suderman chosen for Who's Who
Kimberly Suderman of Hillsboro was among 39 MidAmerica Nazarene University students recently chosen for the 2005 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."
To qualify, students were required to have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and receive at least 30 percent of the ballots in their academic division. Other qualifications included participation and leadership in academic and extracurricular activities, concern as a campus citizen, involvement in the campus community, and evidence of spiritual vitality.
Suderman is a senior majoring in communication/ business at MNU and the daughter of Lyle and Julie Suderman of rural Hillsboro.
