Honors go to Goessel gridders
A number of Goessel High School football players have received post-season all-star recognition.
Senior quarterback Garrett Hiebert was named to the Hutchinson News first team All-Elite 8 team, and received honorable mention All-Elite 8 in the Wichita Eagle and the Topeka Capital Journal. He also was named the first team quarterback in the Heart of America League.
Senior running back Brett Goerzen was third team All-Elite 8 in the Hutchinson News, honorable mention All-Elite 8 in the Wichita Eagle and the Topeka Capital Journal, and also was named first team running back in the Heart of America League.
Junior defensive lineman Grady Stultz was an honorable mention All-Elite 8 pick by the Hutchinson News, and a first team defensive lineman in the Heart of America League.
Also, senior offensive lineman Alex Drake, senior nose guard Bubba Holder, and senior wide receiver Shelden Goerzen all were honorable mention selections, and Goerzen was named first team wide receiver in the Heart of America League.
