Hospital honored for stellar safety record
A delicious dinner of barbecue beef sandwiches complete with fixings awaited the employees of the Hillsboro Community Medical Center on Friday.
They were being rewarded for going a year with no time lost due to workman's compensation claims.
HCMC was recently recognized for the achievement by the Kansas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging Insurance Group (KING). The organization's president, John Grace, presented hospital CEO Mike Ryan with a plaque and cash award.
The award recognizes employees of the main hospital as well as the Long-Term Care Unit.
"Diligence in loss control has helped KING members reduce work-related accidents and lost time, which has ultimately led to safer working environments," Grace said.
The KAHSA is a nonprofit organization representing more than 160 nonprofit nursing facilities, retirement communities, and community-based services throughout Kansas.
