Howard Hagen
Howard Clyde Hagen, Sr., 83, of Odessa died Nov. 15, 2002, at his residence.
Born July 9, 1919, at Collinsville, Okla., he was the son of John S. and Carrie Hagen.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1943. In 1967, he was a subcontractor in South Vietnam where he trained Vietnamese mechanics to work on aircraft and helicopters.
On April 15, 1967, he married Carol in Benhoa, North Vietnam.
In 1975, the family moved to Odessa.
He retired after three and half years from OIME, where he was employed.
He was a member of the American Legion and Temple Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Verna Suderman, Ella Hefley, and Clara Schellenberg; and brothers, Winfred Hagen and Edwin Hagen.
Survivors include his wife of the home; children, Howard Clyde, Jr. and wife Debbie of Broken Arrow, Okla., Larry Hagen and wife Daniece of Odessa, Nguyen Hung Van and wife Le Yen Thi of Odessa, Garry Hagen and wife Lisa of Grand Prairie, Texas, Carla Boldt and husband Paul of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter-in-law, Reyna Hagen of Grapevine, Texas; brothers, Lewis Hagen of Hillsboro and Arlie Hagen of Grapevine, Texas; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services were held Nov. 18 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
