HPD: Charges pending after vehicle check

Hillsboro Police Officers checked a suspicious vehicle Saturday that was parked on South Birch Street. As a result, charges of lewd and lascivious behavior are pending against a Marion man.

Sept. 10: A report was made of a missing or stolen cell phone. A dog complaint was made in the 200 block of North Washington Street. A suspicious vehicle was checked at Hillsboro Public Golf Course.

Sept. 11: A dog complaint was made at Hillsboro High School. A reckless child on a bicycle was reported. A parent received assistance with an underage smoker. Assistance was provided to a subject regarding the removal of an unwanted guest. A forgery complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Main Street. A 21-year-old Hillsboro man was arrested for domestic battery in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street and transported to Marion County Jail.

Sept. 12: The parent of a truant child received assistance. A dog complaint was made in the 300 block of South Birch Street. A traffic obstruction was reported in the 400 block of East D Street.

Sept. 13: Marion County Sheriff's Department received assistance with an unattended death. A subject reported that a juvenile had thrown rocks at her in the 400 block of South Main Street. A subject was arrested in the 400 block of South Main Street on outstanding warrants.

Thursday: Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance on a run with traffic control. A parking complaint was filed in the 500 block of East Grand Street. EMS received assistance on a call in the 500 block of East D Street. A hitchhiker was checked at Kanza and U.S.-56. Assistance was provided to court services. A suspicious vehicle was checked in the 900 block of East D Street. Two intoxicated pedestrians were reported on Birch Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of East Grand Street.

Friday: A dog complaint was made in the 400 block of East Grand Street. A harassment complaint in the 400 block of North Ash Street was determined to be a civil matter. Preparations were made for Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair. Officers assisted with numerous parking complaints because of increased traffic from the arts and crafts fair. Lyons Police Department received assistance with an investigation. Assistance with a domestic disturbance was provided to the sheriff's department. The downtown area was barricaded for the arts and crafts fair. The sheriff's department received assistance with a prowler complaint. A welfare check was conducted in the 400 block of South Main Street. Park curfew violations at Memorial Park were checked.

Saturday: Officers provided security and traffic control at the arts and crafts fair. A subject was arrested in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street on outstanding warrants. A subject was arrested for driving while license was suspended.
