Janet Funk
Janet I. Funk, 52, died June 9, 2006, at her home in McPherson.
Born May 14, 1954, at Goessel, she was the daughter of Peter and Hilda Schmidt Jr.
She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Salt City Business College, Hutchinson.
On Dec. 28, 1974, she married Willard Funk at Lehigh.
Survivors include her husband, Willard of McPherson; son, Marshal Funk of Seattle, Wash.; parents, Peter and Hilda Schmidt of Lehigh; two brothers, Darrel Schmidt of Newton and Dwight Schmidt of Hillsboro; three sisters, Jolene Klassen of Omaha, Neb., LaVonne Marks of Lawrence, and Julia Kaiser of Lehigh; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at First Baptist Church, McPherson, with the Rev. Les Cantrell officiating.
Burial was in McPherson Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or First Baptist Church, McPherson.
