Janzens to celebrate 65th anniverary years ago

Art and Malinda (Schmidt) Janzen will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house in The Partners Parlor located in Schowalter Villa, 200 West Cedar in Hesston on Saturday, May 31, 2003 from 1 to 4 pm.

Reverend B. H. Janzen in Lehigh Mennonite Church married Art and Malinda on May 29, 1938. After a short time spent farming in that area, Art became an auto mechanic and worked at various mechanic jobs. He worked at King Motor Company and Yoder Ford in Hesston for many years. He was part owner of J & S Auto Repair in Hesston after leaving Yoder Ford. The couple also owned and operated The Village Motel in Hesston for many years.

In their early retirement years, they enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and spending time with their family. They have three children: Judy Hess of Greeley, Colo.; Jim Janzen of Hesston; and the late Raymond Janzen. They have 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to help them celebrate. No gifts please.
