Junior golfers compete in tourney
Twenty junior golfers participated in the Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course open junior tournament July 17.
Although the tournament had boys and girls age divisions, there were no girls who entered.
The 10 and under and 11 and 12 age divisions played eight holes, and the upper divisions played 18 holes. Results of the tournament are the following: Boys 10 and under — Daniel Kunantaev of Hillsboro, 1st, 55; Daniel Dick of Hillsboro, 2nd; Devin Dick of Hillsboro, 3rd. Boys 11 and 12 — Fletcher Harder of Emporia, 1st, 42; Luke Gordon of Marion, 2nd; Justin Kent of Hillsboro, 3rd. Boys 13 and 14 — Tommy Woods of Hillsboro, 1st, 78; Andrew Bina of Lincolnville, 2nd; Travis Hett of Marion, 3rd. Boys 15-17 — Bret Bartel of El Dorado, 1st, 78; Lance Bartel of Hillsboro, 2nd; Jay Patterson of Leon, 3rd.
