JV wrestlers compete at Abilene

Seven Hillsboro High School junior varsity wrestlers competed in the Abilene JV wrestling tournament held Friday at Abilene.

Leading the way for the Trojans were Darcy Unrau (125) and Ross Schroeder (112C), who placed second at the tournament, ending with a 2-1 record each.

"Some of our wrestlers struggled a bit," said head coach Scott O'Hare. "Abilene went with a four-man round robin tournament."

"I was a little disappointed that Karl Magnuson and Adam Dirks were both in the A brackets, where the competition is real tough, considering some of the schools that come for this tournament," he said.

The team will compete at a JV tournament on Saturday at Stafford. Matches begin at 9 a.m.
