Kansas Sampler is this weekend in Newton

The 2004 Kansas Sampler Festival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Athletic Park in Newton. The public hours for the festival are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 2.

The purpose of the Kansas Sampler Festival is to give Kansas entities a quality event to showcase their offerings and to educate the general public about what there is to see, do, taste, hear, buy and learn about Kansas. The intended result is to then get more people "exploring" and traveling about our state and enhancing our state's economy.

Hillsboro travel and tourism exhibitors include Everything Hillsboro, Hillsboro Municipal Golf, Country Haven Inn, Hillsboro Convention and Visitors Bureau, Hillsboro Museums, Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Association, Hillsboro High School band, and Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce.

Hillsboro entertainers include The Schniggle Fritz German band. Hillsboro food vendors include King Concessions. Kansas products from Hillsboro include Olde Towne Restaurant and Golden Heritage Foods.

Goessel travel and tourism exhibitors include Mennonite Heritage Museum/Country Threshing Days. Goessel entertainers include the Brothers and Sisters.

The 2004 and 2005 Kansas Sampler Festival is a project of the Kansas Sampler Foundation, the Newton Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau and the community of Newton.

Admission to the 2004 Kansas Sampler Festival is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages seven to 14. Children under the age of seven are admitted free.
