Kenneth Steiner

Services for Kenneth H. Steiner, 49, Pilsen, a farmer and school bus driver, were held Monday morning.

Born April 4, 1954, at Marion, he was the son of Hubert and Mable (Rayon) Steiner. He graduated from Centre High School in 1972. He had driven a bus for Centre USD 397 for 27 years. He also was a farmer and a machinist at Machine Specialty in Hillsboro.

He was engaged to marry Joyce Whiteman, Newton.

Kenneth enjoyed collecting miniature tractors and baseball cards.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish and Knights of Columbus at Pilsen. Services were held at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen.

Preceded in death by his father, he is survived by his mother, Mable Steiner of Hillsboro; his fiancée, Joyce Whiteman of Newton; sons, Kelly of Lincolnville and Kevin of McPherson; brother, Myron of McPherson; three sisters, Gwen Johnson of Wichita, Glenda Stoppel of Hillsboro, and Ginger Steiner of Emporia.

Father Paul Oborny was celebrant at the Mass. Rosary was held Sunday evening, led by Kathleen Oborny. Demitry Evancho was lector.

Jeff Bina was vocal soloist and Charlene Svitak the organist.

Casket bearers were Gary, Terry, and Dennis Steiner, Roy Houdyshell, Gail Whiteman, and Dennis Nice.

Burial was in the church cemetery at Pilsen.

Memorial funds have been established with American Heart Association and the Alzheimer's Association of Kansas.
