Kerbs support granddaughter at basketball game

Dee Duggan and Francie Mueller went to Hillsboro Sunday afternoon for an American Legion Auxiliary meeting regarding Girls' State, which is coming up in June.
Jim and Mary Clemmer were weekend guests of Nyle and Kathi Sutton, Alex, Meaghan, and Kyle of Topeka. Jim attended a Lions Club meeting at Holton on Saturday.
Leona Kleiber accompanied Amanda and Nicholas Kleiber to Hillsboro Saturday morning to attend Marion County 4-H Club Day. Amanda performed a vocal solo and gave an informative speech. Nicholas played a piano solo and presented a demonstration.
Reminder to members of the Moffitt-Crandall American Legion Auxiliary Unit — there will be a meeting at 4 p.m. March 11 to sew carpet rags for the disabled veterans.
Saturday dinner guests of Don and Francie Mueller, Kristin, Kevin, and Chad were Mike and Sharyn Mueller of Olathe, Jim and Nancy Mueller of Wichita, Rich and Susie Mueller of Mentor, Nancy Hawks, Ryan and Stephanie and Ed and Barb Mueller and Eric of Salina, Alan and Cindy Mueller of Assaria, Tami Faris of Overland Park, and Maxine Mueller. The occasion was a celebration of Maxine's birthday.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene Friday evening to attend a basketball game between the Abilene junior varsity girls and Marysville. Their granddaughter, Allison Phillips, was on the Abilene team. Connie Thompson and Taylor of Abilene also were in Allison's cheering section. All went out to eat after the game.
Lenora Graham of Florence and Georgia Spohn attended the Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College in Hillsboro Thursday morning and enjoyed lunch afterward. Pat Wick of Ramona presented the program and Emmy Staatz of Emmy Takes a Census fame was with her to help promote her book.
Friends helping Maxine Mueller celebrate her birthday with coffee and rolls at Butch's Diner Thursday morning were Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Evelyn Hensley, Betty Mueller, Edna Mueller, Lucille Kerbs, Lola Teetzen, Lois Sklenar, and Elaine Backhus.
Following Maxine's birthday coffee, Leona and Adeline went to Hillsboro for the Learning in Retirement program at Tabor, followed by lunch in the college cafeteria.
Henry and Katherine Smith of Fulton, Ill., Terry and Cindy Vinduska, Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and Nicholas, Adeline Bernhardt, and Leona Kleiber enjoyed supper in Hillsboro the evening of Feb. 18. The Smiths were Leona's overnight guests.
