Kerwin Jantz

Kerwin K. Jantz, 87, died Jan. 5, 2007, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.

Born Feb. 14, 1919, at Goessel, he was the son of Emil and Sarah Jane (Holdeman) Jantz.

On April 26, 1981, he married Elda (Koehn) Siemens at Newton.

He was a charter member of Faith Mennonite Church, Newton.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosella (Janzen) Jantz, who died in 1980; two brothers, Milferd and Winston Jantz; and a sister, Floris Miller.

Survivors include a son, Donald Jantz of Albuquerque, N.M.; three stepsons, Robert Siemens of rural Sedgwick, Harvey Siemens of Valley Center, and Dennis Siemens of Newton; daughter, Carol Friesen of Newton; stepdaughter, Carol Hiebert of Newton; sister, Beryl Isaak of Inman; eight grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 22 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Faith Mennonite Church, Newto, with Pastor Gordon Smith officiating.

Burial was in Restlawn Garden of Memory.

Memorials have been established with Faith Mennonite Church landscaping fund or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
