Koehn takes first in national competition

Audrey Koehn, senior at Kansas State University, received first place in the National Kitchen and Bath Association's 2004/2005 Student Design Competition.

Koehn was chosen out of 127 applicants from across the country for her design of a kitchen remodel.

"My design consisted of a contemporary space emphasizing the major bayside view, which was one of the given facts of the competition," Koehn said.

Her entry took more than two months to design and was a final project for her kitchen and bath design course in spring 2004.

Koehn is a member of K-State's American Society of Interior Designers Student Chapter, International Interior Design Association Student Chapter, and the National Kitchen and Bath Association Student Chapter.

Her award includes a trip to the National Kitchen and Bath Association's Kitchen and Bath industry show, May 9 through 12, in Las Vegas, where Koehn will receive her award and cash prize.

She is the daughter of Robert and Rita Loewen of rural Hillsboro and plans to graduate in May.
