Koehns to host open house for 70th wedding anniversary years ago

Jacob C. and Irma Koehn, Goessel, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2:30 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 26, at Bethesda Home, Goessel.

Jacob Koehn and Irma Voth were married Sept. 22, 1934, at Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Newton. They have lived in the Goessel community since their marriage.

Jacob is a retired farmer and electrician. Irma is a homemaker and retired from Goessel Co-op and Bethesda Home. They are residents of Bethesda Home.

Hosts for the event are their children: Margaret and John Hiebert, North Newton, John and Jill Koehn, Dighton, Kermit Nikkel, Canton, and Linda and Paul Buller, Wichita. They have eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
