Kory Baker
Kory Timmerman Baker, 22, of Overland Park, died Dec. 18, 2001, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
He was born July 25, 1979, in Lake Forest, Illinois. He was a construction worker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Survivors include his parents, Greg and Kathy Washmon of rural Hillsboro and Mike Baker; brother Kris Baker of Hillsboro; sister Whitney Washmon of rural Hillsboro; and grandparents Tim and Annelle Bowring and John and Lois Savoia.
Services were held Dec. 21 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Newton with Bishop Russell Stark officiating. Burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Myrna Unruh was the organist, Traci Anderson the chorister, and Jeff Baldauf the speaker.
Casket bearers were Kris Baker, Kristen Bowring, Bryan Jarett, Jimmie Gnidziejko, Tim Horn, Mike Jackson, and Monte Dalke.
A memorial has been established in Kory's name.
