La Cabana changes ownership, reopens
Hillsboro residents were concerned this past week when the popular restaurant La Cabana was closed for a couple of days.
As it turned out, the restaurant has reopened for business but owner Atanacio Nieto was not available for comment.
Shane Marler of Hillsboro, who also happens to be a city councilman, said he no longer was a partner with Nieto.
"I sold my share to Atanacio," Marler said, making Nieto sole owner of the corporation that owns the restaurant.
According to Marler, representatives of Kansas Department of Revenue had gone to the restaurant to check tax forms for employees.
"Any other information would have to be obtained from Atanacio," Marler said.
