Lady Bluebirds fall to Celtics

On Homecoming night the Bluebird girls were not victorious, losing to highly ranked Hutch trinity 57-41.
Scoring by quarters: Goessel 7, 14, 6, 14 = 41. Hutch Trinity 15, 13, 15, 14 = 57.
Trinity led by eight at the end of the first quarter, but Goessel matched the Celtics bucket for bucket as the Bluebirds trailed at halftime 28-21.
Trinity extended the lead in the third quarter and went on an 8-0 run to take a 45-27 lead early in the fourth quarter, as the field goal shooting went cold for Goessel.
Goessel would get as close as 15 points but could not close the gap as Trinity finished ahead by 16 points.
Scoring for the team were Melinda Stucky with 19 points, Tara Goerzen with 10, Brittany Goerzen and Becky Schroeder with four each, Darla Funk with three, and Jessica Graber with one.
Goessel is now 5-3 in the league and 8-3 overall.
The girls will not play until their first match in the Berean Tournament either Monday or Tuesday of next week.
