Two days after laying an egg at home, the Lady Bluejays rebounded from Thursday's shortcomings to make short work of the Central Christian Lady Tigers in Hillsboro in three games.
Tabor won the three matches by 30-13, 30-23, and 30-9 margins to lift its record to 5-10 overall and 2-2 in the KCAC.
"The women did a better job of playing consistently, and I can already see them make better choices," said Bluejay coach Amy Ratzlaff. "It is amazing how refreshing a good solid win is.
"The entire squad played this match which made the day even more enjoyable and we look forward to another great week of conference volleyball."
Erin Loewen and Ashley Scherrer combined to pace the offense with 32 attacks and 17 kills while Anne Gunden supplied four aces and 30 assists.
Staci Whitcomb and Johannah Love had 12 and 10 digs, respectively. Lindsay Vogts had three blocks.
The Bluejays traveled Tuesday to McPherson before heading to Sterling today for a 7 p.m. game against the Lady Warriors.
Tabor hosts St. Mary Saturday at 11 a.m.
Friends
The disheartening loss to Ottawa did not light a fire under the Bluejays.
They fell Thursday in Hillsboro to a vulnerable Friends Lady Falcon team by a 3-1 score.
The Falcons got the first game, 30-26, before the Bluejays thwarted a sweep with a 30-11 win in the second.
Friends went on to finish Tabor in the next two, 31-29 and 30-26.
"We struggled to play consistently, which is a sign of a new team," Ratzlaff said. "We knew from the start of the season that we were going to have to work out the bugs of having a new line-up and that is what the women are trying to do."
Despite the tough loss, Jill Hein had a scintillating performance with 17 digs, 14 kills, and four blocks.
Vogts added 16 kills, Loewen pitched in 15, and Staci Whitcomb furnished 11.
