Lady Jays on the right track at Mac Classic

Tabor softball team wins five of eight

It's taken a while to get there, but after back-to-back-to-back losing seasons, things finally appear to be coming together for first-year head coach Jim Moore and the Lady Bluejays.

Setting at 4-4 a week ago, a strong showing Friday and Saturday at the McPherson Classic have the Bluejays two games above .500 at 9-7 overall.

In a grueling eight games in two days, Tabor managed to win five of eight.

Don't expect the Bluejays to get nervous if they play the Central Christian Tigers again this season.

In four games, Tabor has produced its best offense, outscoring the Tigers, 47-3.

That includes 11-1 and 20-2 beatings Friday and Saturday, respectively.

The only team the Bluejays failed to notch a win against were the Haskell Lady T-Birds.

Apparently, Tabor must have used all its offense whipping up on the Tigers.

The T-Birds beat the Bluejays 9-1 Friday and 5-2 on Saturday.

The two meet again April 7 in Hillsboro.

Falling 11-4 Friday against the hosting Bulldogs, the Bluejays bounced back Saturday to nip McPherson, 7-6.

Besides the Tigers, Tabor also swept the Sterling Warriors in the Classic with respective 6-2 and 2-1 scores.

The Bluejays and the Warriors could pair off again this weekend in the Sterling Tournament.
