Lady Warriors drop two

Peabody-Burns High School girls' basketball team came up short twice this past week with losses to Remington and Bennington. The team played its final home game Tuesday against Berean Academy.
The PBHS offense scored five Feb. 14 in the first quarter against Remington. Jessica Gillet had three points and Traci Windsor added two points, but PBHS trailed 12-5 after one.
Jessi Hilliard paced the second quarter scoring with six points. Tabitha O'Neal and Windsor each added a basket, as Remington continued to roll, leading 26-15 at the half.
O'Neal and Gillet each put in a basket in the second half, and Hilliard nailed eight straight free throws, but the Warriors were outscored by 20 in the half, falling, 54-27.

Bennington
PBHS first-quarter offense Friday against Bennington consisted of a basket each from Windsor and Gillet. Bennington put up 10 points to lead 10-4 at the end of the first quarter.
Free throws from Gillet and Hilliard made up five of the Lady Warriors' 11 points in the second quarter. Hilliard added three points and Elaina Newell had two points as PBHS trailed 17-13 at halftime.
Hilliard put in seven points in the second half and Gillet added a basket, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Warriors fell, 44-22.
