Lambert signs with Tabor track program
Aftan Lambert, Smith Center, has signed a letter of intent to participate in the Tabor College track and field program next year, according to head coach David Kroeker.
The 5'7", 130-pound Smith Center High School product participates in the 400M and 800M. State track honors for the three-time qualifier include third in the 400M, fifth in the 800M and second in the 4x400M and 4x800M in 2003. Regionally, she has been recognized as the regional 400M champion and has appeared on the Salina Journal Area Honor Roll for her efforts in the 400M and 800M.
Lambert has also appeared on her high school's superintendent and principal honor rolls. She has also been selected as student of the month.
"Aftan is a fine athlete who will really strengthen our team in the 400M and 800M, and will also really contribute in the 4x400M and 4x800M relays," said Kroeker. "She will also be a very positive addition to our student body."
Lambert is the daughter of Jerry and Lori Lambert of Smith Center.
