Legacy Park: Residents enjoy Sweet Adelines

November was a busy month with residents making gifts for family members. We made angel pins, angel sucker tree ornaments, and a Christmas notepad.

Sweet Adelines of the Wichita and Newton area came Nov. 10 to perform. They are women who sing barbershop music. It truly was truly a wonderful evening. What beautiful voices they have.

Ann Leppke is bringing in youth from Peabody schools to play bingo twice a month with the residents.

The auxiliary women came Veterans Day and honored our vets by serving ice cream. We have four veterans. Each received a gift.

Sunshine Preschool students came Nov. 21 and performed for us. They sang songs and were in Indian costumes. They also went around to tell each resident "Happy Thanksgiving."

Several residents went out for Thanksgiving Day with family. Other family members cane in and ate with residents. We served the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and of course, pumpkin pie.

A special thanks to yet another volunteer who comes once a month to play piano for a sing-along. Veda Ann McPheeters has been doing this for 20+ years. Thank you Veda Ann for your dedication.
