Legacy Park: Residents participate in parade
The month of September started with several residents riding our caboose through the Labor Day parade at Florence. After the parade they enjoyed sack lunches before returning home.
Staff set up a booth downtown for the day and sold items to raise money for the resident activity fund.
Emily Bowlin's second grade class at Peabody Elementary School comes regularly to make crafts, read, or play games with residents. The residents think this is great and look forward to each visit.
Dr. Skinner brought an unusual animal this month. It was a de-scented skunk. The residents almost were shocked to see the skunk but enjoyed petting it and feeling its soft pelt.
The Methodist church women played bingo one Monday night this month with the residents.
Sunflower Cloggers of McPherson entertained Sept. 27 at Legacy Park. How they can move their feet!
Legacy Park residents have learned to play Mexican Train dominoes.
Our turtle family that lives in Meditation Garden has grown. We have three new babies. Staff and residents marvel over them.
We would like to recognize LaVonne Ammeter as a Legacy Park volunteer. LaVonne makes cakes for our monthly birthday party. If you ask residents and staff, they will tell you the cakes are excellent. She has been doing this for more than 10 years.
