Lehigh gets green light for city revitalization program

Marion County Commission gave the initial go-ahead to the City of Lehigh to pursue a neighborhood revitalization program.

Rose Funk, Lehigh city clerk, represented the city at the county commission meeting Monday regarding the program.

Commissioner Howard Collett said the county supports revitalization programs.

"Anytime the county can support programs that promote property improvement or new building, I'm all for," Collett said.

Funk said the program would include all property within the Lehigh city limits. She added there was a business in Lehigh considering new construction and this program would certainly encourage him to proceed. A public hearing will be held once the plan has been completed.
