Leonard E. Sippel
Leonard E. Sippel, 80 of Goessel, died Aug. 18, 2002, at Bethesda Home in Goessel.
Born Feb. 1, 1922, at Elmo, he was the son of Eugene I. and Martha (Reiff) Sippel.
On Nov. 21, 1943, at Gypsum, he married Frances L. Weyand. She survives
He was a retired farmer and dirt contractor, residing in the Lindsborg/Bridgeport area most of his life before moving to Goessel for the past year.
He attended the Temple Church at Gypsum.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II in the 96th infantry division.
Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Gary Sippel of Seattle, Wash.; daughters, Rhonda Sjogren of Wichita, and Sheryl Pankratz of Hillsboro; brothers, Walter Sippel of Roxbury, and Verlin Sippel of Lindsborg; sister Wilma Kohman of Moundridge; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lindsborg with Rev. Jeff Waugh presiding. A graveside service was held at the Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh with Rev. R. Laney Kuhn officiating.
A memorial has been established with Bethesda Home in Goessel.
