Letter: Headline is misleading
To the Editor:
I was very disappointed in the headline that appeared in the March 4 edition of your paper, "Tabor student is arrested in drug raid."
Anyone reading that headline would immediately form a negative opinion about Tabor College.
In the first place, the young man who was arrested did not live in Tabor College housing. Therefore Tabor College personnel would have had no jurisdiction or knowledge of his activities.
If the person arrested would have been an employee of a Hillsboro business, would your paper have printed the name of the business that employed him as part of the headline? I think not.
This headline reflects poorly on the other many wonderful students who attend Tabor and even volunteer their time in community and mission projects.
