Letter to the editor
To the Editor:
I applaud you on the editorial in the May 23 Hillsboro Star-Journal. However, I must make one correction. The poppy is not "sold" by the American Legion Auxiliary. They are distributed to be worn in honor of the American veteran. A donation may be made but is not required. Money collected is remitted to the Department of Kansas for Veteran Rehabilitation and Children and Youth Fund.
