Letter to the editor: Former resident enjoys visit

To the Editor:

I was in Hillsboro on Sept. 14 for our 60th class reunion for the Hillsboro High School Class of 1942.

It was great being in Hillsboro again and seeing all the progress the city has made through the years.

At the time of living there, we lived in a large white house, which was later torn down, and is now the site of Tabor Library.

While there, I also went to services at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and had Sunday dinner at the Tabor cafeteria. I enjoyed seeing it.

During my late high school years, I worked for Chet Ashcraft at the Hillsboro Star. At that time we issued driver's licenses, and I issued my first driver's license to myself.

I noticed the new front on the building. It was different when I worked there.

My name was Wini Riggs at the time of my school days.
