Lewis Hagens celebrate 50th wedding anniversary years ago
Lewis and LaVada Hagen of Hillsboro celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday with a dinner at Prairie Dunes Country Club at Hutchinson. The dinner was attended by their children and grandchildren.
Lewis G. and LaVada David were married Dec. 20, 1954, at Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro. The Rev. P.R. Lange officiated.
Lewis served in the United States Marine Corps from 1950 to 1953 and is a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He began work as a journeyman electrician in 1953 and continued until his retirement in 2001.
LaVada has been a beautician for 40 years and currently owns and operates The Hair Place.
Their children and grandchildren are daughters Colleen and Murray Koop, Alexis and Mitchell, and Tammy and Kenneth Ollenburger, Evan and Elliot, all of Hillsboro; and son, John and Marlene Hagen, Sarah, Rachel, and Jennifer of Inman.
