Lilah Schultz

Lilah Betty Schultz, 74, of Henderson, Neb., died Feb. 1, 2004, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora, Neb.

Born Jan. 11, 1930, in Hamilton County, Neb., she was the daughter of John B. and Katherine (Penner) Goertzen.

She grew up on a farm in Hamilton County and graduated from Hampton High School.

In 1942, she accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized by Rev. H.B. Kliewer on Sept. 17, 1946.

She attended Tabor College for one year. It was at Tabor where she met LeRoy Schultz, and the two were married July 25, 1948, at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson, Neb.

In 1953, the couple moved to a farm in Lehigh. In 1959, the family moved back to a farm in Hamilton County, Neb.

She cleaned the Henderson Post Office and worked as a nurse's aide at the Henderson Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Glenn W. Goertzen.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, LeRoy of Henderson, Neb.; four children, Virgil and his wife Charlene Schultz of Nelson, Neb., Lowell Schultz of Marquette, Neb., Milton and his wife Lori Schultz of Superior, Neb., and Lola and her husband Mike Dorsey of Blue Earth, Minn.; brother, Merle and his wife Adella Goertzen of Oregon; sister-in-law, Delores Rempel; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 6 at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson with Pastor J. Edward Epp officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
