Lillian L. May

Lillian L. May, 81, of Hillsboro, died Aug. 28, 2003, at Parkside Homes.

Born April 2, 1922, in Tampa, she was the daughter of Peter H. and Lena (Wedel) Jantz.

On April 24, 1940, she married Virgil T. May at Newton. After their marriage, they lived in Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas.

She was a homemaker and a charter member of Harvey County Rabbit Club. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, and reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two children.

Survivors include sons, James A. May of Hillsboro, Thomas W. May of Steele, Mo., and Melvin R. May of Doniphan, Mo.; daughters, Carol Y. Johnson of Kennett, Mo., and Peggy I. Zolman of Steele, Mo.; brothers, Verlin O. Jantz and Dalin D. Jantz, both of Denver, Colo.; sisters, Neola P. Anderson of Pueblo West, Colo., Sadie E. Soukup of Pueblo, Colo., Verene V. Eason of Newton, Evelyn L. Partridge of Mesquite, Texas, and Ines J. Parker of Pueblo, Co.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 30 at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel with Rev. Jerroll Martens officiating. Burial was at Doyle Valley Cemetery.
