Lindsay, Regier get Wiebe Scholarships
Holly Lindsay and Jonathan Regier are the two Hillsboro High School graduates to receive the eleventh-annual Wiebe Good Citizen Scholarship this year.
The winners were announced Sunday afternoon during HHS's commencement exercises. Each will be given $4,500.
There were eight finalists in all for the award this year, and each was recognized on Sunday, along with their parents. The finalists were Amelia Brandt, Risa Fadenrecht, Carson Greenhaw, Trista Hanley, Jenna Jost, Shannon Kroeker, Lindsay, and Regier.
"The members of the selection committee were impressed with each of these young people," said David Clark, senior class sponsor and HHS music instructor. "The committee believes that each of these young people understand and are able to demonstrate the essential qualities of citizenship."
