Long-term care unit: Residents read dust bowl book

Residents enjoyed reading about summer Monday morning. They played bingo in the afternoon.
The book "The Worst Hard Time" is being read which is about dust pneumonia and dust storms for 12 days straight.
A van ride was provided Tuesday afternoon for residents to ride to Maxwell Game Preserve.
Bible study time is the book of Phillipians and how we can be a blessing to others. Elaine Janzen led a sing-along in the afternoon. Residents played bingo after singing.
Lutheran communion was provided Thursday morning. A wildlife video was shown on buffaloes in Russia. Five residents ventured out in the 100-degree temperature for a shopping trip. Resident council was later in the day.
Jane Vajnar led a discussion about life on the farm. Several residents went shopping in the afternoon. Anna Enns celebrated her birthday. She is the only resident with a July birthday.
Residents played bingo Saturday morning with Natasha Hollingshead. The Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church gave a worship service in the afternoon.
