Louise Kobiskie
Louise Johanna Dorothea Kobiskie, 85, of Alma died Sept. 5, 2002, at the Council Grove Health Care Center.
Born Feb. 5, 1917, in Baker, she was the daughter of William G. and Anna S. (Meyer) Kneisel. She attended country school near Powhattan.
On May 6, 1945, she married William Kobiskie in Alma. He preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1990.
She was a homemaker while her husband operated the family farm north of McFarland. In 1975, they retired and moved to Alma. She worked for different local restaurants and the Alma Manor as a cook.
She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, a 4-H leader for many years, and a member of a card club.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Friesen and husband Dennis of Herington, Shirley Robertson and husband Rodney of Altus, Okla., Nancy Rowley and husband Gary of Eskridge; son, John Kobiskie and wife Sheryl of Manhattan; sisters, Leona Thonen of Powhattan and Pauline Rison of Omaha, Neb.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 9 at Peace United Church of Christ in Alma with Rev. John Austin officiating. Burial was at Peace United Cemetery in Alma.
