Lyndsay R. Sherbert

Funeral services for Lyndsay Rae Sherbert, 15, were held Tuesday morning at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion.

She died as the result of a tragic automobile accident July 24, 2003, at the U.S.-50/77 intersection near Florence.

The Rev. Alan Stahlecker was the officiating clergyman. Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

Dot Richmond sang "Amazing Grace." Julie Krich was organist.

Casket bearers were Kerry Sandwell, Dustin Sherbert, Ryan Funk, Jerry Secrest, Brent Cleeton, and Jason Funk.

Honorary casket bearers were Joey Shipman and Josh Funk.

Memorial funds have been established in her name with Ronald McDonald House and with the Lyndsay Sherbert Memorial Scholarship Fund.

A memorial service was held today, Wednesday, at the Congregational Church in Kinsley with Pastor Sarah officiating.

She was born Aug. 31, 1987, at Newton, the daughter of Daniel and Luanne Sherbert.

She would have been a junior at Kinsley High School this fall.

She was a member of the Congregational Church at Kinsley and the church's youth group.

Lyndsay also was involved in the Upward Bound Program at Dodge City Community College. She enjoyed volleyball and running track and was the manager for the wrestling team at Kinsley High School. In addition, she was an active member of the Kinsley school yearbook staff and a member of KAYS Club in Kinsley.

Survivors include her parents, Daniel Sherbert of Marion, and Luanne Molzen of Kinsley; grandparents, William and LaDonna Sherbert of Marion and Allen and Catherine Molzen of Belvue; great-grandfather, Bert Sherbert of Wakefield; brothers, Dustin Sherbert of Manhattan and Joey Shipman of Kinsley; sister, Jayden Hallowell of Florence; and many other friends and relatives.
