Mabel B. Rhodes
Mabel B. Rhodes, 92, Montezuma, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma, where she had been a resident the last five years.
Born May 31, 1913, at Pettisville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Hiram J. and Catherine (Bechtel) Mininger. On Dec. 27, 1936, she married Harold L Rhodes at Durham. They moved from South Dakota to Montezuma in 1966. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Ivan Koehn; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; eight brothers; and six sisters.
Survivors include sons, Lyle Rhodes and wife Mona of Montezuma, Stuart Rhodes and wife Elaine of Scio, Ore., Paul Mark Rhodes and wife Glenda of Windsor, Colo.; daughters, Berdene Rhodes of Olathe, Phyllis Koehn and husband Lavern of Montezuma, Crystal Koehn of Montezuma, Marilyn Fischer and husband Jim of Scott City; brother, Edwin Mininger of Moundridge; 22 grandchildren; and 56 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Montezuma North Mennonite Church in Montezuma with Ministers Charles Schmidt, Kalvin Salsbury, Richard Mininger, and Cyrus Wedel presiding. Burial was at North Mennonite Church Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Bethel Home Inc., Montezum.
